Transforming your work pants into something festive

First, the pants…

This time of year in particular, I have so many after work events that I run to straight from the office. Transitioning from your desk to a festive holiday party can be a challenge. It’s not always easy to make work appropriate dresses feel fun or sexy. And most trousers, by default, can feel corporate. A crop flare trouser is one of the more trendy styles of work pants you can wear. They have just a hint of edge and can be completely transformed based on how you style them.

Here, I am wearing a staple a wide leg, crop flare trouser that I have had for years with a fun, fresh metallic top. If you’re looking for a new crop flare trouser, these actually look incredible and are only $29. I also own these (and wear them a ton,) but can’t currently fit into them given the belly! The other pair I own have a high, narrow, waist, which is flattering but way too tight on me right now!

The holiday flare

If you have a fun top to make your outfit, the rest is simple. I fell in love with the texture , shape and pattern on this metallic top as soon as I saw it. I love when patterns have a black undertone to soften a look. It’s also great to find tops that don’t look like anything else you own. Especially when you are looking for some festive, more special, pieces. You can get away with a little more of a dramatic top, when wearing such a tailored bottom, too. I thought this top and this top were other great options that would work really well with a crop flare.

I am so bummed that this bag is currently sold out in the metallic! It has been such a great holiday season purchase that I have been able to dress up or down. The only positive, is on my hunt I stumbled on this almost identical look alike for $59! More options in other colors/ styles are tagged below, though, if you like the look!
