Not your standard button down - That Pencil Skirt

Happy Thursday!

This is the season for taking some risks with your button down tops. Gone are the days that your white button down shirt needs to be neatly pressed and tucked into a pair of trousers. It’s about time for button down shirts to be so in style and a great opportunity for us working girls to be able to buy some very trendy pieces that work in and out of the office.

My look here is an old white button down (I wish I could tell you the brand but the label has fallen off over the years! I want to say its J. Crew?) with a Laveer bustier top layered over. This entire look is available on the Shopbop sale (minus the shoes…) There are so many things I love about this top. I love the way it looks with a pair of work trousers and was really surprised how professional the whole look felt considering I’m wearing a bustier top. For the weekends, simply swap out the trousers for a pair of worn in jeans, throw on a pair of statement earrings, and you can even leave the pumps. For the shoes, mine are Gianvito Rossi, but any pump works. I especially like a pump that doesn’t match perfectly like these black ones. Black and navy is one of my all time favorite combinations!
