I’ve been really quiet on TPS lately – SORRY! What can I say, the crappy spring weather here was just very uninspiring 🙂 I also had a crazy schedule over the past few weeks. But I’m back! And excited to finally be dressing for June!
I am all about pretty spring dresses – but they aren’t always easy to find! I thought this high-low hem, floral dress was perfect for the season but also a touch edgy. Because of my height (and the fact that I look younger than I am) I try to avoid wearing anything that could be noticed as “cute.” and floral dresses could definitely enter that territory. I think the hemline and sleek neckline elevate this dress from what you may have worn for college graduation how ever many years (or months) ago to power woman rockin’ a sleek warm weather look.
I can’t help but also comment on the shoes. Someone stopped me on line for the bathroom Saturday night at my new favorite restaurant downtown to ask me where I got them, and it made me realize how awesome they really are. They are probably the most important item in my wardrobe (no joke). They are, hands down, the best shoes I’ve ever purchased! Although I must admit, they look way better than they feel – the pitch of the heel takes a little getting used to! The nude patent leather pump is probably the most flattering shoe – especially for shorter girls. They magically elongate your legs and match absolutely everything. I got these shoes a few years ago, wear the at least once a week (both out for dinner and to the office) – and they are still in near perfect condition (although I did bring the to a shoemaker to have rubber put on the soles to protect against the NYC streets!) There are some things worth splurging for – and some that are definitely not… for me, these were totally worth the splurge. I really don’t think you can go wrong if you are buying classics.
