gladiators and shirtdress

I admit, I stole this dress out of my sister’s closet. I’m pretty sure she used to wear it in high school (5+ years ago). The funny thing about shirt dresses is that they truly never go out of style. I guess sometimes they are more “in” than others, but when they have a “comeback” the style doesn’t change much. This season I saw some trendier ones (very into this DvF Lara dress), but the classic styles (like this Ann Taylor one) are reproduced year after year after year. This is the piece to save and store in the depths of your closet when you’re sick of it, because you will want it again! This one in particular suits me perfectly for both the office and the weekends! For this beautiful day in the park I paired the dress with a pair of “splurge” Gianvito Rossi shoes that I purchased at the beginning of the season (shown here in black), but I found lots of other great options that would have totally done the trick. Last, but certainly not least, is the bucket bag. Almost every designer has come out with their own version this season and I sure hope they continue to come out with them next season. Although I am biased to Mansur Gavriel (shown in my photos), I am tempted to say that this Zimmerman bag actually looks nicer. 

 

However, if you are set on the Mansur Gavriel bag, I have two options for you (1) get on the distribution list to receive notifications for when the fall bags are released – this will likely be in August and you can purchase them online. I will warn, the inventory doesn’t last more than an hour or so which is insane! (2) There is an app called PS Dept that typically carries a bunch of them and doesn’t charge more than they would be directly from the website!
