pretending its still summer. . .

With Labor Day approaching, summer is officially over and I could’t help but look back on all of the fabulous summer pieces that I never blogged about! I happen to think this Alice & Olivia top (although unexpected) could be a great transitional piece (pair it with a pair of navy trousers and throw a blazer over it? I always struggle with color, so I was especially excited to have this piece in my closet. I think Alice & Olivia has truly stepped up its “business professional” game and I am finding that I am purchasing less from their “Air” collection (which was designed for working women), and instead, finding ways to fit some of their funkier items from their main collection into my every day looks. Separately, for all of you motivated younger women out there – I highly recommend reading Stacey Bendet’s story (great story here). She’s a story I’ve always kept in mind as I pursue my own career – age doesn’t have to be a barrier (was my key takeaway.)

Happy Labor Day weekend – I promise this will be my last summer look 🙂
