Boots for every occasion
As most of you probably know by now, I’m pregnant! Finding clothes that look good has been challenging (more to come on this soon!) However, no matter how bloated or icky I feel, shoes always look great 🙂
Many of you have asked, so here’s a guide to help you pick out boots for every occasion. Quick tip: I don’t want to steer you wrong, but MOST of the time, if you buy something right before Black Friday and it goes on sale even more on Black Friday you can call the retailer to adjust your price so keep an eye on anything you buy over the next day or two for further discounts!
Major Discount
Throughout the week, I’ll be updating this section with best deals I find. Browse below for amazing shoes 30% – 50% off! Seriously browse through the selection, some of these are Jimmy Choo, Stuart Weitzman, and Aquazurra (shoes that don’t go on major discount often!) There are also some great options from Sam Edelman that come out to under $100!
A few shout-outs:
- Stuart Weitzman sale shoes have been flying off the shelves – DEFINITELY check out this retailer for a huge selection of styles and sizes left all discounted!
- This pair of boots is the closest to the Stuart Weitzman 5050 I have ever seen and they are on sale for $123.
- These are my favorite designer discounted boots! I just bought them yesterday 🙂 Size up, they run small!
- This block heel sock boot is perfect for wearing under work trousers and is currently $55!
- I’ve wanted glitter boots for a while but have not wanted to spend a lot on them because they are so trendy. I found this amazing pair for under $70.
Knee High
Knee high boots do not need to be reserved just for the weekend! Although I wouldn’t recommend wearing thigh high boots to the office, knee high are totally acceptable. They are so chic and multi-functional because they look just as good in the office as they do out. I own two pairs of knee high boots that I live in: A pair black suede ones with a chunky heel and a pointed toe fitted pair that I can easily adjust the height on (I typically cuff the top of the shaft under to right around my knee – instead of over – when I wear them to the office.)
The Stuart Weitzman Alljack boot is my favorite knee high multi-purpose shoe. These are the boots I wear a ton in my Inastories for everyone who has asked. If you love those, these have a very similar look for a much better price.

Under trousers
This is a dilemma I personally feel on a regular basis and one that many of you have reached out to me about: What boots look good with my straight leg, crop work pants? Most work pants are not fitted enough around the calf to be tucked into knee high boots, but it can be tricky to find the right pair to wear underneath.
For the office, the “sock boot” trend has been great. These are the best boots I have found to go under my work pants. They have an almond toe, chunky heel, and are fitted around the ankle so look great under pants. They also come up a few inches above the ankle so will keep your bare legs covered when you wear those crop pants. Unfortunately, the ones I own have very limited sizing left, but these are also an amazing pair that will serve a very similar purpose.
If anyone is looking to splurge, I’ve had my eye on these grey pointed toe boots for a while! I think the color and shape is stunning. I may do this similar pair instead!

The Commute Boot
In the winter, I have no shame wearing all weather boots to walk to work. First of all, even a short walk is freezing so its not worth it to have your ankles exposed. And also, if there is any weather at all, the roads get icky and slippery and you are bound to ruin your nice shoes during a commute. For your every day winter commute (rain or snow included) my preference is these Sam Edelman fur lined boots or these Stuart Weitzman hiking boots. I always think a black boot looks less “obnoxious” and blends in better with work gear. Not to mention, both the boots I mentioned also look really cute on the weekends if you’re wearing workout gear or even with a pair of jeans.
… and yes, I think you can do better than Ugg boots for the office (although they are definitely the most comfortable!)

There are times when you may have to run out to a meeting in the middle of the day and can’t always bring a change of shoes in your bag. If that’s the case, I try to stick to either:
- A leather, chunky heel boot (preferably with rubber on the bottom… although you can always bring any shoe to a shoemaker and ask them to add it) OR:
- A knee-high flat (these are my favorites but posted other great options below!)

Kitten Heel
I love a traditional kitten heel boot. They look very buttoned up and professional and I am definitely planning to pick up a pair this season. If you’re looking for something a little funkier (but still appropriate) I think these slouchy kitten heel boots have a really cool shape. I’m thinking of buying them to wear with long skirts and midi dresses.
Also, try taking a risk with color – this navy kitten heel can be worn almost exactly as you’d wear a pair of black ones! This Stuart Weitzman pair comes in a variety of colors including red (which could be office potentially be office approved if you wear it with a cool midi length skirt but is probably better saved for the weekends.

Texture
Most of these are not office appropriate (unless you work in a more creative field…) But I still think there is need in a wardrobe for a few fun pairs of shoes! These are my favorite funkier shoes of the moment. Still deciding which I want to pull the trigger on! We do get out of the office, right!?
