I always thought midi length could be tricky, especially for petite women. A midi length skirt could just as easily elevate any outfit or make an outfit totally frumpy. The trick I’ve found is to finding the right midi length piece is to look for ones that have slits. Obviously, if you plan to wear something to work, you want a slit that is not too high, but don’t be scared for it to come up a little past your knee. This skirt is from the Veronica Beard spring collection (which is a collection that I love way too much!) It is pricey, but I find the pieces to be really well made and last a while. The styles are also so easy to wear and can be mixed and matched with lots of different pieces in my closet.
This outfit is one of my favorites for spring and one that I’ve already worn a few times. Midi length skirts have a feminine flare and are perfect to wear anywhere from a bridal shower to a lunch.
I love throwing a leather jacket on top to make the look a bit more casual. My new job that I started last August has a slightly more relaxed dress code from where I was previously and I have loved being able to wear my leather jackets inside! I remember at my old job, I used to sneak my leather jackets in the office crumbled up inside my tote bag, and I’d throw them on only when I left to go meet up with friends! This leather jacket is a washed navy color that goes with just about anything. Its a little softer looking than a black leather jacket but can still be worn with anything that you’d typically wear with black.
The top is also from Veronica Beard. Its a great spring top that can be worn to the office with a skirt or pants or on the weekends with jeans. The fit runs large, as you can see the sleeves are a little long on me so size down! Although I think its a great top, ruffle tops are everywhere this season and there are plenty of very similar options for a fraction of the price. If you were to pick one, I’d definitely splurge on the skirt over the top…
