So – I’m sure lots of people will be chatting about a 3 day shopbop sale going on right now and here are three reasons why you shouldn’t get anything from it (unless you’ve had your eye on something specific)
- Oftentimes during these flash sales you’re enticed to act quickly and buy things you wouldn’t normally buy accumulating to more money than you were planning to spend on clothing this month. I always find that when I see something on deep discount, I think to myself “oh! that would be so cute…” but its never “I NEED THAT!” the items in my closet that I was not IN LOVE with when purchased, are typically the ones I’m never in the mood to wear
- Not to be a downer here but…. it’s not that great! I went through all 24 pages of sale items trying to put something together for this site and nothing really stuck out to me. If there was a pair of Aquazurra shoes I liked, they were in the wrong color, if there were a basic pair of Soludos, they only had two sizes left (and not mine)
- Shopbop always has sales… and usually the whole site (with some brand limitations, which always annoys me) goes 25% off. I’d much rather wait until the next sale where virtually everything is off rather than sifting through (what seems to be) a lot of the stuff that wasn’t able to sell.
If you INSIST on shopping from the sale… I did pull a few things that I thought could make sense (like cork Stuart Weitzman nudist shoes and some faux leather pants) There wasn’t much on the work appropriate side, but some cute weekend basics did pop up. Again, just nothing I was overly thrilled about —- just trying to be totally honest!!!
The only big positive is that it looks like you can return just about everything, so if you don’t mind the burden of sending back a package, it’s worth trying a few pieces on!
