Wardrobes are built over time. Most of us can’t splurge every day on long-lasting, statement pieces, and instead, collect them over time. This cardigan is that special, splurge, piece for me. This ruffle sweater feels to me more like an accessory, it makes any outfit, and happens to be very high in feel and quality. I love the way it moves when you walk and can equally envision it with ripped jeans on the weeked as I can with work trousers or a skirt. I originally found it on sale at Saks – but it appears they are sold out. I have a feeling it will go on sale at Nordstrom or Zappos as well, so keep your eye out for it if you like it! The skirt is my “go-to” J. Crew pencil skirt. I went with the petite version (as I’m only 5’1) and as you can see it is a little on the short side. And the olive green ruffle trim top is one of my favorite weekend tops of the season! It is 3.1 Phillip Lim (also more of a splurge piece..) and has an open back that is conveniently concealed by the cardigan. I love mixing weekend and weekday pieces to maximize everything in my closet – so although I could definitely never wear this top without something over it, it is perfect for the spring before it gets too hot out.
