Alas, ThatPencilSkirt wearing a classic pencil skirt!! As you may have noticed, I actually don’t wear pencil skirts all too often (2016 goals), but I recently decided to dust off my first ever pencil skirt that I wore my first week of work five years ago (no exaggeration.) When I started a job in the corporate world, I assumed I’d have to load up on suits, so splurged on a black Theory suit, a gray Theory suit and skirts to match both blazers. I quickly learned that I could look equally professional and much more sophisticated by not wearing the matching blazers and bottoms together every day!

I love Fame blouses, especially this striped tie neck one. Although I paired it with a pencil skirt above, I also love this on the weekend with a pair of worn in jeans and pumps. The jacket is one of my favorites that I bought at Claudie Pierlot in Paris. I found a similar one from Club Monaco here or here that I really like. The navy and black work really well together – and matches everything!
