When I started packing for my Hawaii vacation, I came across this white dress I wore to my bridal shower. I was pretty obsessed with it when I first bought it, but relished it as a special-occasion-only dress to be worn in warm weather months. I struggled with it a bit because a lot of occasions perfect for this dress that I have in the warm weather months revolve around friends getting married — and you know what they say about wearing white to someone else’s wedding event…
Alas – I discovered that this seemingly “summer only” dress could actually work as a festive alternative to holiday parties in the winter months! I loved draping the black cape on top (mine is from Maje many years ago… it was a great one but I can’t seem to find it anymore), which is open enough to not be too harsh a contrast against the stark white dress.
For tights, I went with the Commando princess sheer‘s – I swear by these and wear them almost every day in the winter to work. They are a bit pricier than the drug store brands, but they truly to last longer. I think these are also just the right amount of sheer to keep you warm in the winter months but allow for just a tiny bit of skin to poke through.
…. and the bag. I’ve had my eye on Edie Parker for quite some time and recently took the plunge and bought this baby for myself. I must say, I have gotten a TON of use out of it. Edie Parker bags are youthful, playful, but serious enough to wear with almost any evening look. I got one that had hints of silver and gold in it so I wouldn’t be constrained by hardware to wear it. I didn’t see this Rainbow glitter Edie Parker clutch when I was looking but I think it is pretty freakin’ awesome!
