With the risk of looking like you’re getting ready for a night out on the town, pulling off leather in the office is not an easy task. I recently played around in my closet with a skirt that (yes, guilty as charged) I have worn on the weekend to find a way to make one of my favorite after-work pieces office chic! The leather skirt featured above is an old Rebecca Taylor one but I thought this BB Dakota pleated skirt had a similar feel (and for $55!!) To avoid appearing unprofessional, try pairing a leather bottom with a more relaxed fitting top. A fitted top with a leather bottom may look appropriate while bar hopping but likely won’t go over well in your office! This comfy top is A.L.C (last season), but this Earnest Sewn grey sweater could also do the trick!
I have yet to purchase a leather dress – but in doing some research for this post I came across this BB Dakota sleeveless leather dress that is currently in my shopping cart! How cool would this look with a polished black blazer?
