Bronze is here! Or burnt orange? I guess I don’t really know how to properly identify this color scheme that I’m seeing pop up everywhere . . . but I absolutely love it. This Saint Laurent bag was the first addition to my wardrobe in “this” color and was quickly followed by the Frame top. The bell bottoms tie it all together to create an overall 70s vibe, a vibe that I am totally digging right now. For a girl who is only 5’1 🙂 bell bottoms* work wonders at making me appear taller (if I do say so myself) and I am very happy to see them back in style! (Might have something to do with the fact that it’s hard to tell that there are five inch heels hiding under those wide legs!) Last, but certainly not least, I love the fact that I can now wear deep red hues on my nails! Deeper red hues work well with most skin types and provide an appropriate pop of color that is not too offensive to wear in the office!
*Beware of wearing your bell bottoms too short, though, because a bad hem could actually do the opposite.
Shirt: Frame drape blouse
Bag: Saint Laurent (this Sophie Hulme envelope bag is a nice option too)
Bell Bottoms: Stella McCartney (okay I splurged) but Blank, Hudson, and Frame all made great ones also. I love the front pockets on the Hudson’s.
Nails: Vinylux Decadence – I’ve tried lots of different nail polishes, from Essie, to gel, to OPI, and nothing goes on as quickly, lasts as nicely, and comes off just as easily as Vinylux. This “gel/polish” combo dries in under 5 minutes and lasts about 10 days without much chipping. They call it a “gel-like” but it comes off easily with basic nail polish remover. You know what this means… If you have a big meeting coming up and have yucky nails (which instantly makes you appear younger… not in a good way) you can run out and grab a manicure and get back to your desk in a solid 30 minutes with nice, DRY, nails! You can also do what I do sometimes (shh) and put a fresh coat on under your desk – you then have to be prepared, though, to have the consequence of people picking their heads up asking what that smell is!
