Just as all of the big sales were wrapping up in NYC I spotted this beauty in the window in Carven’s shop in SoHo. The fabric is perfectly soft (it’s cotton!) with just the right amount of elasticity that it is incredibly comfortable to wear. I am always hesitant with snakeskin – definitely don’t want to look like a “hoochie mama” (especially not in the office) so I thought pairing it with a bright and playful scarf would take the seriousness out of the pattern (the cute yellow collar detail helps as well!) I also loved this look because I do think it is multi-seasonal. I envision wearing the dress with a cozy taupe cashmere sweater and black tights through the winter…. remind me of that in March when I look in my closet and am sick of all my winter garb!
Dress: Carven (similar here & here – I couldn’t find the dress, but here it is in separates and still on sale!)
Scarf: Hermes, stolen from my mother’s closet. I found a great one here on the Real Real (fabulous site) that I think would do the trick!
