Charity events with the work crew are always pose an interesting dilemma. If you’re anything like me, you want to look cute, especially if you’re attending one of the trendier Thursday night ones, but you also need to look appropriate with all of your co-workers around. Tight and short dresses are probably a “no go,” and forget about (most of) those plunging necklines. Faced with this dilemma just a few too many times, I’m proud to say I found a great solution. Try wearing a (somewhat, but not too . . . sexy) jumpsuit with a fitted blazer on top. The trouser look adds a corporate feel, and a “sexier” top is masked by a blazer. This A.L.C. jumpsuit and Helmut Lang blazer are my “go to” pair and I love to wear them with a funkier pump – one that is not quite appropriate for the office, but also avoids any confusion with “club shoes.”
