I am always wary of horizontal stripes in fear of (1) looking like a sailor (2) doubling the appearance of my circumference and (3) coming off too casual. For these reasons, I was exceptionally excited when I found this Elizabeth and James dress. In addition to being incredibly comfortable (and stretchy!), this outfit makes for a great day-to-night transition. Dresses tend to be expensive, so when I add them to my wardrobe, I like to maximize their use. This one can be worn with tights in the winter to work, to a cocktail event with a pair of funky black heels, to a girl’s brunch with flats (I tried it on with Converse sneakers and sort of liked the way it looked…) or with a light cream sweater to work in the spring. In summary – it was worth the splurge and I plan to be wearing this one a lot!*
